Hello everybody,
No pictures this time but for a change some words. Time for some updates and anecdotes...

First of all:

* I now don't wear nappies any longer during the day! And when I have a nap, I sometimes stay dry as well! Mum is so proud of me!!!

* I have a brand new bycycle which I love very much and even want to take to bed with me! It has no pedals and is designed to teach me to find a balance straight away! Not easy, but I loooooove riding it and hope that soon, I will reach speeds like those of Eddy Merckx. Antwerp roads will no longer be safe for pedestrians...

* Once again changed from a childminder to a nursery... Yippie, jah, Yee. Rachida had to close down unexpectedly so there we stood. Mum had to take a week off work to try and find different child care for me for the next 2 months and guess what?! She found a fantabulous nursery, just around the corner from her work and I love going there! We play with water every day when it is hot outside and I have lots of little friends already! Just done my first week there and didn't even cry once. And today, on my fifth day there, I felt so comfortable that I felt confident enough to show them my true colours... yep, poor nursery nurses! She seemed quite shocked as I had been soooooooooo good the first 4 days. Hahaha! I am a very big "kapoentje"!!!

* I now take showers instead of a bath and I have so much fun together in the shower with mum! Another step towards growing up and at least, I have my toybox back as mum used it as a bath for me seen as we only have a shower!

* Mum and I are planning to visit Portsmouth towards the end of the summer. Looking forwards to see all our friends there again! If we ever get there, that is.

* The street we live in here in Antwerp is very mega cool and we all stick our heads together to organise lots of activities this summer. Everybody is welcome! Tomorrow, 4th July, we have our street BBQ with veggie stuff too. On 21, 22, 23rd August we close down the street for some activities for the kids. The street will become a "children's paradise". On top of all this, the whole neigbourhood is working together to organise a huuuuugeeeeee event on 31st july, 1st and 2nd august with a merry go round, lots of concerts, sand pit for the kids, open air movie, car boot sale, bouncy castle, open air party, swimming pool, trampoline,..... you name it, we organised it! So be there or be ... fun is guaranteed!

* the story about the toilet seat on my head... ah well, it will have to wait till next time as mum is now tired and going to bed. Night night.

I am a dancing queen...

Here is some more news from Moi. Mum and I are now settled in our new home in Antwerp and we are enjoying it very much. I go to a child minder called Rashida. She is really nice and Rose goes there as well. I even have a little boyfriend there called Adriaantje. Together, we get up to lots of naughty things at Rashida's. I do like going there! Meter and Papy visit me a lot and they come and baby sit every wednesday. Tantan, Uncle Simon and Rose live just up the road and there is a coooooool playground nearby too! When I look through my bedroom window, I can see the playground of a nursery school. In the lounge we look out onto the biiiiiiig church. The bells ring every hour and I really like that. I can now also go on my potty and stay dry during the day and during my afternoon nap (if I have one).

We have moved houses! We now live in the big city of Antwerp and we are loving it! Lots to do and lots to see. Unfortunately, no Internet yet, no TV and no Phone... but then again, who needs all this anyway?
Soon, we will have found our way around and we'll be up for receiving lots of visitors!

This weekend was filled with great times! On Friday, mama and I went to Antwerp to visit Tantan, Uncle Simon and Rose! We even decided to stay over for the night! I looked after Rose, we went for walks and I played a lot with my fantastic Uncle Simon! On Saturday, there was a "street party" in the afternoon so I first baked some cakes for the party together with Tantan and then we all went to the street party. it was really fun! Lots of other children to play with, music, nice food and NO CARS! Cooooooool!
Then, on Sunday, mama and I decided to go and visit Evert, Sigrid, Nele and Elke. Nele and I are such good friends!!! We played a lot together and we laughed and giggled. After a nice long nap, we went to a park where we saw animals and played in the playground. After that, we warmed up in the "taverne" where Nele and I also ate a pancake!
It was a fantastic weekend and I was very tired by Sunday night!
There was also some very good news too this weekend! Esther and Marius had a little baby-girl, Lilith! Mother, father and baby are doing well! Congratulations to them!

Weer vele nieuwe foto's deze laatste weken. Het is dan ook druk geweest! Ik heb verleden Zondag ook voor het eerst Sinterklaas met Zwarte Piet gezien en ik had geen schrik! Ik heb dan ook almaar direct mijn brief geschreven naar de Sint. Ook ben ik nog eens in het bos gaan wandelen, bij Tante Trien en Cedricje op bezoek geweest en ik heb ook mijn nichtje Rose Marie-Lou gezien. En ik gedraag me tegenwoordig voorbeeldig! Althans, wanneer we in publiek of op bezoek zijn. Thuis ben ik soms wel een bengeltje maar mama vindt dat eigenlijk wel leuk dat ik een kapoentje ben! Enfin, hier zijn dan wat foto's.

yep! I am not well again... Mum had to come and pick me up at nursery yesterday. Gastric flu. Not nice for me and not nice for my mum either as she had to keep changing my dirty nappy all night long. No need to say that we didn't sleep well. I am catching up during the day and my mum is hoping that I will have a better night tonight. We will see.
I am still active although less active than normal but here are some pictures of me today.
And as you can see, my mum has put my matras on the floor because I am now able to climb out of my bed (and fall down the other side). This also means that I can get out of my bed whenever I fancy... hehehe

Since last Friday, I have refused naps at lunch time! Even today at nursery, there was no way I was going to sleep... Everybody is puzzled about it but at least, last night, I slept all the way through the night (20h30 'till 7h15) which is AMAZING for me! Mum was awake worrying all night as she is not used to this?!
Yesterday, I went to Tamsin's "baby-borrel". It was a long car journey but I really enjoyed seeing my friend Eva again and seeing little (well, not so little...) Tamsin! Mum enjoyed seeing Kathleen and John and also Annelies. We got home late though but it was well worth it! Annelies took lots of pictures which I will hopefully get to see.
Anyway, that is it from me here in Belgium!

Dada's visit and the accident

Here's some more news from me! Dada has been to visit again which was great but whilst showing off on my bike, I fell over the steering wheel flat on my face! No need to tell you that I hurt myself badly! Mum saw me bleed very hard and tried to look where it was coming from but I was in so much pain that I wouldn't let me go anywhere near my face. Then dad found a little something on the floor! And yes, it was my front tooth!!! Mum then took me to the neighbour who is a nurse to ask what to do next and if a visit to the hospital would be advisible. And so we went down A&E. It seemed that I had also cut my lip badly and my other tooth had gone back up where it came from... So 2 teeth less to see in my mouth. Eating was not easy as it hurt and my lip was swollen too. I didn't want to play at all for 2 days and I was rather miserable but today (Tuesday), I felt fine again and my old self! So here are some pictures, not for the faint hearted!

Yep, the summer has arrived and I loooooove my swimming pool! I am a real little fish in the water. If all goes well, I am going to Planckendael in Friday and my friends Nele and Elke are coming over to play on Sunday! No doubt that lots of pictures will then appear on my Blog here! Update on my mum

Hello there! Just a little update on my mum! Mum was allowed hom today after 4 days in hospital! The surgery went fine and all is well at the moment and we hope that all will get better and better from now onwards! I visited my mum every day but Sometimes found it a little difficult to see my mum in that strange bed... Mum also received strong painkillers (Dipidolor - which is morphoine based) which made her sleepy and not very "with it". I am very happy that she came home today and even though she cannot talk very well yet and she has to eat "baby food" (all mashed up etc), I am happy that we can play together again and have fun! Looking forwards to our next trip (Planckendael?).

For the first time in my life, I went swimming! And I am a real fish... At first, I was a little bit apprehensive but after 15 minutes of getting my head around all that water, I was unstoppable!!! Especially the slide in the swimming pool was fun. Due to the very nice sunshine and tropical temperatures here in Belgium last week, I was also able to dip my feet into the sea!

On 9th April, I went camping with my mum. it was great fun! We played a lot in the sand and on the play ground and on my mum's birthday, we decided to go to the children's farm where the goats and chicken ate my sandwich!!! I also have 12 teeth now and they all seem to come at the same time which is no fun at all but I am a brave girl and coping with it really well. The cuddles from my mum also help when it really hurts.

On Saturday, we all went to the sea to install the caravan for 3 months. This means that I will be visiting the Belgian coast a lot from now on... Plan was to stay for 1 day for now but my mama decided that we would stay overnight. Just like that, without even having PJ's with us. And so we did and boy, did we have a good time!!! Lots of improvising though (look at my bath) but we managed it and I also slept through the night in the caravan! Other than that, I had a little accident too which resulted in a big bump on my head and a scratch on my head too. But then again: I know no fear...
And oh, yes, mama only had her mobile phone to take pictures and this one ran out of batteries very soon too so not many of them. But hey, don't I just look COOL in my pink scooter?

Mama is ziek geweest. Ik heb helemaal alleen bij meter en papy gelogeerd terwijl mama in het ziekenhuis lag. En ik heb me goed geamuseerd, hoewel ik mama wel heb gemist... Mama is weer wat beter en mocht naar huis! Dat vond ik geweldig fijn en ik kon haar toen ook tonene hoe goed ik ben beginnen lopen! Mama kan me niet bijhouden. Charlotte en ik hebben besloten om een blog op te starten. Het is allemaal nieuw voor ons, en niet alleen de Blog. We zijn op 9 December 2007 ook verhuisd naar Belgie. Een grote verandering voor Charlotje maar ook voor mij aangezien ik 10 jaren in Engeland heb gewoond. Terug aanpassen aan de Belgische cultuur en gewoontes want geloof het of niet, heel anders is het wel!
Dus een heel nieuw begin voor ons tweetjes. We zien wel waa het naartoe leidt.

Charlotte and I decided to start up a Blog. It's all still very new for us, and not only the Blog. On 9th December 2007, we also moved to Belgium. A big change for Charlotte and also for me, seen as I have been in the UK for nearly 10 years. Trying to get used to the Belgian culture and habits again. And believe me, it's all very different!
So, a whole new chapter for the both of us. We will see where it goes.
